Head of Strategy & Business Development – Executive CommitteeGaspar is Head of Strategy & Business Development of asistensi, a Madrid-based insurtech, with operations in Latin America and South East Asia. It offers accessible health plans to the families of migrants who reside in Europe, the United States and the Middle East that include health services and insurance coverage to protect them against day-to-day ailments, common illnesses, and medical emergencies.
Prior to this, Gaspar was Principal at Nazca, a Mexico City-based early-stage venture capital firm backing technology-enabled companies in Mexico and Spanish-speaking Latam, where he led the fund’s investment team. Nazca was an early investor in asistensi, co-leading the Seed round in August 2020.
Previously, Gaspar was Senior Associate at IGNIA, a Mexico City-based venture capital fund supporting companies serving the emerging middle class in Mexico, where he sourced and evaluated new opportunities in different industries/verticals, including fintech, e-commerce and SaaS.
Earlier on, Gaspar served as Investor Relations & Financial Planning Manager at Linio (acquired by Falabella), by then the largest e-commerce retailer in Latin America (with presence in 8 countries) and a Rocket Internet venture, where he worked closely with the CFO.
Before this, Gaspar was Senior Analyst at Lazard, the leading global financial advisory firm providing advice on M&A, restructuring, capital structure and strategy, first in Buenos Aires and then in Madrid, where he advised clients on major M&A and debt restructuring transactions across various sectors.
Gaspar graduated from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid with a BA in Business Administration.
