Armando is a Founder with experience building and leading companies from the ground up across various markets in LATAM, Europe and Asia. He was previously Managing Director for Spain, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela for Rocket Internet where he Co-founded - or helped launch - several e-commerce start-ups including Lazada, Westwing and Linio and also founded the offices of Rocket Internet in Spain.

Armando also has significant experience in financial services. He is a former Executive Vice President of Grupo Santander and Head of Finance and Strategy for Santander Wealth Management & Insurance, a c. 380bn Eur in AUM and c. 2.500mm Eur in profit contribution Division of Grupo Santander across 10+ countries. He also was Vice President in the Strategy and Group Executive Chairman’s Office of Grupo Santander, managed the definition of the group-wide strategy and led key projects for the Group Executive Chairman for the largest bank in the Eurozone.

Armando has served on the Board of Directors of Banco Santander Suisse, Konecta and Santander Asset Management Mexico.

Armando has an MBA from INSEAD and graduated in Industrial Engineering with honors and highest distinction (Magna Cum Laude) from Purdue University (USA).
